RE: Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

Great Replacement for my trusty G5.

I've tried mice off and on. But in the end I always found myself coming back to my G5. Nothing came even close to matching how it fit my hand, and the adjustable weight and still decent dpi ratings made it more than worth keeping as my standard.

I saw this thing on newegg one day and thought "what a great idea!" I'm a console gamer primarily so moving my fingers from WASD leaves me lost. Well that problem seemed like it could be solved once I saw this thing. I went looking for another mouse like it and found none.

I went to Best Buy and put one in my hand, it felt like it had an easy feel and that the buttons would be fairly easy to use.

I bought one, and I've had it a whopping 24 hours now. And I can safely tell you my gaming on the pc has already improved. I haven't played Starcraft in about a month and I came out just about on par with where I was when I put the game away. The programable number keys on the mouse allow me to use keys 4-9 in a way I've never really been able to. When I click buildings and etc, I want to be able to just focus on using the building hot keys. I don't want my left hand trying to manage squads on the number keys and building selection, in addition to using the hotkeys.

This solved that problem perfectly.

In startrek online I'd seldom use keys 4-9 because my fingers would get lost on the keyboard, particularly during ground combat missions. Again the mouse has solved this perfectly.

It has an out and out Insane DPI rating, the software support is there and has gone without a hitch, it feels somewhat weighty in the hand without being too heavy, and it's comfortably ergonomic even for someone with large hands like me.

Worth every penny I spent.

RE: Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

Couldn't ask for anything more.

When I was shopping for a new mouse I was torn between this and the SteelSeries WOW mouse. The SteelSeries mouse had 50/50 love or hate reviews. After talking to a sales rep at Best Buy I was swayed and have not regretted this purchase one bit. I was skeptical of my ability to learn and use the side buttons, I was a little worried of the many miss click opportunities. But with the inclusion of the "trainer" stickers included in the package it was a breeze and has resulted in a much quicker response time for me. Prior to this I had also never used any bar add-ons so I can't compare that aspect but I do like it personally. After purchase it took most of the day to organize my bars but I have many alts I play frequently. Also the feel is extremely comfortable, light weight and its also great looking.

Meh

A bit to small... The mouse doesn't feel natural unless you happen to be a petite 14 year old girl who plays World of Warcraft. Guys will feel cramped when holding this mouse either by having their fingers hanging off it or gripping it in an unnatural way. Doesn't really work well with FPSs but doable. Not Razer Destructor Professional Gaming Mat friendly, messes with the optical laser and the mouse drifts alot with it.

RE: Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

I would love it if it worked consistently

This mouse is great when it works. I've had it for about 6 months now. It looks great, is easy to use, and I acclimated to the keypad on the side quickly and without the stick-on guides. It's now very intuitive.

Unfortunately, it doesn't play nice with Windows Vista. Every now and then it just stops working for no apparent reason. When you try to update the firmware Windows stops recognizing what it is at all. Repeated attempts to update it using Naga's own programs fail. Nothing fixes it. Then, suddenly, it will eventually come back on - usually after thirty minutes or an hour of trying to fix it.

I don't use any USB ports or anything strange. I run AV, etc., and have very standard programs. And yet it just doesn't work consistently with Vista. So I give it 4 stars for when it works, but since it works unpredictably and once it's down it stays down for a while, the net result is 2. I'm tempted to give it 1.

RE: Razer Naga MMO Gaming Mouse

Bag hands lil buttons

This mouse is a great tool for MMO players. The only drawback so far I have seen is training your thumb to hit all the buttons properly. If you have big hands this will be difficult. Other than that the mouse works as expected and better than expected. I have greatly enjoyed my purchase of it and would recommend it to anyone.
