Razer Orochi Bluetooth Laser Gaming Mouse

This mouse aims to be the best of both worlds- both a gaming mouse and a travel mouse- but I should have paid attention to the dimensions- this mouse is too small for many adult's hands. It seems even smaller than many travel mice out there already. I have average-to-large hands, and this mouse is too small for my palm to rest on. Even worse, the price made me think this was a premium mouse like a Logitech MX or G series, but the finish and labels wore off inside a week, and the mouse didn't always work after my laptop came back from sleep.

So I was super excited to get this BT mouse since it's advertised as both a bluetooth and USB driven item so I can use it both on planes in USB mode and when I'm on the go in BT mode.

Also says that it's Mac and PC.

Since my main notebook is a Mac and it's is bootcamped so I have both Windows and Mac OS - this seemed like a perfect fit. Unfortunately the execution isn't as good as the marketing, especially when it comes with using it with MacOS X.

MacOS X : The driver will only allow you to configure the dpi resolution and whether the blue led scrollwheel light is on or off. It won't allow you to configure the buttons, so I can't get back/forth to work on the mouse. Also there seems to be a conflict with the system drivers since the mouse sensitivity doesn't translate well between BT and USB modes, so I have to manually reset the sensitivity of the mouse when I'm running wireless and remote. I'm sure this is a software issue and I hope that Razer address this with a software update.

Otherwise the mouse looks awesome, feels nice with the rubber coated texture and tracks well on the Razer matt I also bought.

Love the mouse. Really good feel, it has a bit of heft. I dont use this for gaming but it does come with a really nice braided usb cord. I bought it mainly for the bluetooth since I dont like having wires everywhere.
Pros: everything

Cons: for mac users the Razer drivers do not let you assign tasks to the side buttons and scroll wheel button so it is essentially a three button mouse (the scroll wheel button is only useful in programs like internet browsers). It is possible to down load thrid party software but I dont want to pay $20 more to be able to use the mouse as it is designed.

I still gave it a high rating because it was not meant for a mac. Maybe razer will bring out better drivers soon!!!!

this device allows for precise gaming controls while plugged into USB (which features high quality gold plating and a fabric cord) or you have the option to unplug to bluetooth control. it features 4 side buttons and the regular 3 top buttons with scroll wheel. the scroll wheel is smooth as is the top skin of the device (it has that rubberized/shark skin feel). its portable and accurate. this mouse is def the way to go if you have a gaming laptop.

I like this mouse and it's my third mouse from Razer. It linked by bluetooth to my Macbook Pro in about 5 seconds and was extremely responsive right off the bat. It uses regular AA alkaline batteries and actually comes with a brand name set so you can start using it right away. That's a nice touch.

My biggest complaint is the size. Even though it's a "laptop or travel" mouse, its very small for an average mans hand.

Closing note: These guys use extravagant packaging. While it might exude a "cool factor" to kids, it's a waste and a pain in the butt for adults.
